For the past three years, my little Perth-based company, Cate Rocchi Communications, has gone from strength to strength, increasing revenue each year by 25% since 2012. It has evolved from occasional editing work and the odd literary consultation – done at my kitchen table between school runs – to ghost writing columns for merchant bankers, media training high-profile business and community leaders and pitching tailored press packs globally. Clients include Singapore-based GasDrill International, Priority1 (Melbourne), Leadership WA, Southcare Inc and Trackem Pty Ltd which has offices in the US and Saudi as well as Perth. It is also a story of what a single mum can do with three kids and working for myself has allowed me to work for several charities along the way (something I would not have had the time for if I had remained at a big PR firm). I have never nominated myself for an award before. Thank you for the opportunity, Cate.

I would love to nominate my wife.she has had to overvome some enormous adversity and has achieved amazing milstones the least of which is building a thriving business. As a personal trainer she gives much of her self in order for others to succeed. Her client loyalty is a testimony to the great job she has done and continues to do so over the past 5 years.

I would love to be nominated as mumpreneur of the year as I have a unique head lice service in Melbourne-Victoria and the only service with a “one of a kind” head lice treatment. An American device that dehydrates all lice and their eggs in a single guaranteed treatment. I was honoured to be the first head lice service in Australia to treat head lice with this device since 2011 and I was also the Victorian representative on behalf of the American company in marketing this treatment to families. I have worked extremely hard over the years on my own in not only training 14 mothers who have come on board to help families treating head lice but also running the entire business on my own. I have had no social life over these years as my life is my career and would love to get more recognition for what I have achieved to date.

I would like to nominate my Wife, the strongest, bravest, most caring, soul enriching and enlightening person I know. For her entire life she has struggled, worked, forgiven, forgotten, overcome all the obstacles that have been placed in her path, and still she gives all of herself, every single day, to every single person she meets. They may be a life long friend, they may be a stranger, it’s all the same, they get 100% of My Wife’s attention, her efforts, her compassion and her passion for life. I helped My Wife endure the fight for her life when she battled cancer two years ago and now I watch her not only help others to fight, but I watch her join their fights and do battle right along side them. Jazance Fitness and Dance is the only business in the country that offers the unique Empower program which is specifically designed for women affected by breast cancer. Empower was developed entirely by My Wife in the interest of helping people rise from the ashes like the Phoenix and get control of their lives, regain their soul, their strength and confidence, and to continue to live their lives.

I would like to nominate myself for the Ausmumpreneur Awards. I am a single mum of 1 and also a Domestic Violence victim, I had the strength to left my abusive husband and created a successful party business called Parties Planned to Perfection

As a single mum I feel empowered to know that my son will grow up knowing that even though we didn’t have the best of life at the start but we do now and no longer need to help of Centerlink

If you vote for me, not only will you be voting for an awesome business, but it will be inspiring others that have been in my position to strive and branch out on their own

I would love to be considered for this years awards. I am a single Mum of 5 and have forged a career in the Beauty Industry, opening my salon Bella Mia Body in March 2014, to set a standard for my children, peers and clients. I absolutely love what I do and this year started the development of my own retail line of Luxurious Candles branded Dolce Luce Candles and Bath Teabags under the Bella Mia Body brand with more products in the development stage. I thrive on the challenge of meeting the day to day needs of my clients and also the challenge of dreaming and developing products that my clients can use and benefit from. Education and training is something I value in my industry and when given the opportunity to become and Education Ambassador for CND I jumped at the chance, completing my training with the Best Academic Award, Best Application Award and Best Overall Award. I always strive to achieve and offer the best I possibly can so would love to be considered for this amazing award. Thankyou. Ruth

  • Michele McArdle

Working in my own business to support and mentor students of all ages has been the greatest reward. I am constantly inspired by young people; their level of commitment, perseverance and resilience. The person and service is the core of my business and I love what I do.

Awards make great business sense as they are a way of acknowledging the incredible work that individuals/businesses are doing, awards have the capacity to boost morale, can add value to your profile and reputation, provide opportunities to build contacts, to network and help to position you in your market as an expert.

All the very best to all the inspiring and passionate AusMumpreneur! You are all AWESOME!
